4 Tet and Ellie Goulding cross swords on new single ‘In My Goals’.
The 2 return a good distance, with Ellie Goulding having provided vocals for Four Tet’s 2020 track ‘Baby’. An actual fan favorite, this was adopted by the producer’s Grammy-nominated remix for Goulding’s 2022 monitor ‘Straightforward Lover’.
Sustaining contact, 4 Tet started teasing one thing new from the pair in his dwell units. A show-stopper at his mammoth set in North London’s Finsbury Park, ‘In My Goals’ is out now as a stand-alone single on Three Six Zero Recordings.
Charging into the membership house, ‘In My Goals’ maintains a purring percussive engine, with the dappled electronics and pointillist thrives in 4 Tet’s work aligned towards a dulcet vocal from Ellie Goulding.
The 2 clearly have a particular artistic relationship, and the results on Ellie’s vocal pivot between PC Music, Millennial pop, and 2k24 impulses.
