London alt-pop voice MAY has shared new single ‘Cynthia’.
The songwriter has made a reputation for herself with vibrant musicality, attracting the eye of basis.fm – the label arm of the pivotal female-forward on-line broadcaster.
MAY will share her debut EP on October twenty fifth, however new single ‘Cynthia’ is the proper level of introduction.
Out now, it was totally self-constructed, with MAY appearing as each producer and author. Dipping into some 80s tones, there’s a neon-tinted side to the sound palette, which matches her vivacious lyrical type.

‘Cynthia’ is my fourth single so far, written and produced on my own, made throughout a number of studios together with Studio 13 (Based by Damon Albarn), younger house and at house. Via elastic saccharine synths, gliding strings and deep resonant 808’s beat, we discover ourselves wanting by means of a rose tinted lens to a home world inhabited by the fictional character Cynthia, impressed by the work of efficiency artist Shana Moulton.
The lyrics discover how freedom and fantasy will be discovered inside the observe of our home on a regular basis routines, corresponding to pores and skin rituals, and even bored mendacity in mattress within the morning. These routines transcend us into the theatres of our imaginations.
