Asserting his command over competition season, the British musician, DJ and producer unveils one more aspect to his highly-anticipated sophomore album ‘In Waves’. Weaving between warped, choral samples and pulsing, elastic basslines, the monitor immerses listeners deep into the after-hours, evoking a nostalgic euphoria from starting to finish.
Set to land on September twentieth, Jamie xx leans into the strengths of timeless membership sounds for his forthcoming report. From the nu-disco ecstasy of ‘Life’ to the magnetic breaks of ‘Deal with Every Different Proper’, every launch is characterised by its anthemic qualities, a method that the artist has fine-tuned throughout the album’s four-year creation course of. Inviting a stellar checklist of collaborators alongside the best way, the 12-track challenge spotlights the voices of Kelsey Lu, John Glacier, Panda Bear, Oona Doherty, while strengthening its bonds with the xx.
Street-tested throughout a collection of ‘The Ground’ residencies throughout London, New York and now Los Angeles, Jamie xx is directing his focus in direction of his crowds.
