East London musician Lilah Pi shares evocative new single ‘Stone’, that includes Bakar.

On the only Lilah references Medusa and Van Gogh in an artsy psych-pop amalgam that memorialises chapters of a relationship that need to be crystallized – to be made everlasting. Bakar’s uncooked, earthy croon arrives because the monitor slows its tempo with a crescendo of strings and euphonic harmonies.

Of the moodboard inspiration behind ‘Stone’, Lilah says: “I wrote stone after some greek stone statues, they have been without end caught in a second of affection and intimacy and I believed how a lot better life could be in case you may pause your relationship in its finest second and switch it to stone, so it might final without end.

‘Stone’ marks a re-introduction for Lilah Pi who launched her debut EP ‘Atlantis in 2021. Her early musical influences ranged from Fleetwood Mac, The Kooks and Frank Ocean, music that centered feeling, musicality and otherworldly evocations.

Lilah’s new period charts a defining relationship, its dissolution and what occurred within the aftermath.
