Christopher Owens is not any stranger to loss and hardship – within the years since his final launch, he has confronted a bike accident that left him immobilised, battles with homelessness, and the passing of former Ladies bandmate Chet “JR” White, proper because the duo ready to reunite within the studio. I Wanna Run Barefoot By means of Your Hair is an album that captures each the lows of life and the celebration of its highs, one which Owens refers to as “a document a couple of journey again to the centre of myself”
Owens says of the themes and experiences that led to the creation of the album, “Within the second half of the Bible, Jesus asks ‘What shall it revenue a person if he achieve the entire world and lose his personal soul?’ Currently I’ve discovered it attention-grabbing to ask it differently. ‘What shall it revenue a person, if he lose his complete world, and achieve again his soul?’ And I believe the reply must be one thing like — The Kingdom of Heaven.”
