South African trailblazer Moonchild Sanelly returns with audacious anthem, ‘Scrambled Eggs’, out through Transgressive.

Produced by Johan Hugo, ‘Scrambled Eggs’ is a pan-continental affair recalling the dub-infused, hypnagogic RnB of late noughties luminaries M.I.A and Santigold. With the discharge comes a video directed by Jabu Nadia Newman. Honouring her roots and the stylistic paraphernalia of South Africa, the visible was shot final month in Johannesburg, and is described as an “action-packed, chaotic and carefree caper, and celebration of female-led enterprise empires.”

Moonchild says this of ‘Scrambled Eggs’: “Once I began staying within the GOOD lodges, I seen how the world is obsessive about avo and eggs for breakfast. It grew to become a factor… you get avo & eggs for breakfast on the good locations …”  She provides, “My writing not too long ago has been me at my most humble, and ‘Scrambled Eggs’ is me reminding everybody – by the way in which, I AM that bitch! I’m a multi-passport artist travelling the world in customized designs and doing all of it on my phrases. And I’m actually f**king pleased with that.”

Moonchild has launched two acclaimed solo albums ‘Rabulapha!‘ in 2015 and ‘Phases‘ in 2022, rising as a genre-pivoting, idiosyncratic artist, working with superstars like Beyoncé, Gorillaz and Wizkid, in addition to fringe-alternative artists like Unhappy Night time Dynamite, Ghetts, Wesley Joseph.
