Nubya Garcia Shines On 'Set It Free' | News

London saxophonist Nubya Garcia returns with new single ‘Set It Free’.

The composer’s 2020 album ‘Supply’ gained a Mercury nomination, spawning a prolonged sequence of worldwide exhibits. New album ‘Odyssey’ pushes her music to totally different ranges, with opening singles reminiscent of ‘Readability’ and ‘The Seer’ displaying her imaginative and prescient.

‘Set It Free’ is a composite of various influences – the beat leans on Golden Age hip-hop vibes, with a slight nod to the slumped funk of J Dilla; the vocal from Richie Seivwright of KOKOROKO has a neo-soul affect, whereas the nexus of jazz notes that assemble the backing yearn for freedom.

A tune that goals to current unvarnished fact, Richie sings: “I’m sorry I’m not sorry, fact is what I converse…”

Nubya Garcia will play an intimate present on the ICA in London on September nineteenth – tickets are offered out.
