R.E.M. launches We Are Hope Despite The Times digital compilation encouraging listeners to vote in US election

The compilation is aimed toward encouraging their listeners to remain knowledgeable, engaged, and vote throughout this important election season.

The compilation title, We Are Hope Regardless of The Instances, is drawn from the lyric, “We’re younger regardless of the years / We’re concern, we’re hope regardless of the instances” from the band’s music “These Days” (from R.E.M.’s 1986 studio album, Lifes Wealthy Pageant).
