The Kills share cover of Billie Eilish's "Happier Than Ever" and announce new EP, Happier Girls Sessions

“It’s all Sirius XM’s fault,” says Alison Mosshart on the Billie Eilish cowl. “We have been requested to do an acoustic session with them final 12 months and so they’d requested for a canopy as a part of the session. I’d all the time actually dug ‘Happier Than Ever’ and located myself singing it round the home on a regular basis. It appeared like a sensible choice, since I beloved it and beloved singing it. After that radio session hit the airwaves, Laurence Bell from Domino reached out to us enamoured with our acoustic model of the music and requested us to do an electrical recording. Right here we have been in London, recording a non-electric EP and what’s the primary music on it? An electrical cowl of the acoustic cowl we did… and the extra electrical energy the higher. Thanks Billie for writing such an excellent music!”

Recorded at Grammy-winning producer Paul Epworth’s Church Studios in London with engineer Riley McIntyre, the EP comes through bodily and digital codecs: a 7” vinyl includes a soulful cowl of Billie Eilish’s 2021 smash hit single “Happier Than Ever” on the A-side and a brand new non-electric model of “My Ladies My Ladies”, the standout ballad from the band’s dynamic 2023 Epworth-produced LP God Video games, on the flip.

The digital EP will add non-electric variations of three extra God Video games tracks – “103”, “New York” and “Higher Days”.
