Phoenix stole the present throughout the closing ceremony for the Paris Olympic Video games 2024.
The video games proved to be a sporting spectacular, however there was a musical aptitude to proceedings. Snoop Dogg grew to become the American group’s mascot, whereas each opening and shutting ceremonies contained a raft of company.
The closing ceremony came about final evening – August eleventh – with Tom Cruise coming into the Paris stadium to secure the handover of the Olympic flame for the subsequent host metropolis – Los Angeles 2028.
The music proved to be a dream come true, with Phoenix taking a starring position. Orchestrated by inventive director Thomas Jolly and govt director Thierry Reboul, it proved to be a surprising survey of contemporary French music.
Taking part in a few of their best-loved songs – step ahead ‘Lisztomania’ and ‘1901’ – the band had been joined by some particular company. Phoenix frontman Thomas Mars joined AIR to re-create ‘Playground Love’, whereas DJ Kavinsky and Belgian singer Angèle joined the band to carry out ‘Nightcall’ from the Drive soundtrack.
Joined onstage by some all-star Olympians, it proved to be a jaw-dropping finish to the sporting festivities.
