Yemi Alade and Black Sherif join the lineup for Pop-Kultur festival

Nigerian singer Yemi Alade, 22-year-old Black Sherif – Ghana’s most sought-after rapper – alté musician Woman Donli and Kenyan multi-talent Blinky Invoice are the brand new additions to the lineup for Pop-Kultur competition. Additionally confirmed is the Commissioned Works programme. Yearly, 15 artists are invited to develop artistic stage productions for Pop-Kultur, starting from live shows and performances to theatre.

“In recent times, Pop-Kultur has premiered Commissioned Works by artists corresponding to Kat Frankie, Sophia Kennedy, and Hendrik Otremba – distinctive, resonant experiences that set the competition aside from others. I’m very excited to see what awaits us in 2024 and sit up for performances that dare to be totally different. It is notably pleasing that this 12 months entails 4 acts – Christin Nichols, Hope, Schneider TM, and Steve Mekoudja – who’ve all been funded by Initiative Musik,” Katja Lucker, Managing Director of Initiative Musik and former director and founding father of Pop-Kultur says.
